Why Focus on Pelvic Health?
The pelvic floor is responsible for bladder and bowel control. A stronger pelvic floor helps regulate the release of urine and feces by controlling the opening and closing of the urethra and rectum.
The pelvic floor supports internal organs. Stronger pelvic floor muscles will keep the bladder, intestines, and uterus in place and prevent them from descending.
The pelvic floor muscles play a key role in sexual health and function, contributing to sensation and arousal. An overactive, tight pelvic floor may be responsible for pain during intercourse.
The pelvic floor muscles stabilize the core and work in conjunction with the deep abdominal and back muscles to support the spine and maintain proper posture.
Who Is This Workshop For?
This workshop can benefit women experiencing any the following symptoms:
Urinary incontinence: Leaking urine when sneezing, coughing, laughing, or exercising (stress incontinence).
Bowel incontinence: Difficulty controlling bowel movements or gas.
Pelvic organ prolapse: Feeling of heaviness, pressure, or a bulging sensation in the pelvic area (caused by organs like the bladder, uterus, or rectum descending).
Frequent urination: Urgency to urinate or difficulty emptying the bladder fully.
Low back or hip pain: Weak pelvic muscles can affect posture and core stability, leading to discomfort.
Pelvic pain: Discomfort or pain in the pelvic area, hips, or lower back.
Pain during sex or orgasm: Discomfort or pain during intercourse (dyspareunia) due to muscle tightness.
Constipation: Difficulty with bowel movements or incomplete evacuation.
Urinary urgency: Constant or frequent need to urinate, even without a full bladder.
