Matt Urbanek
Alexander Technique
Raised in Buffalo, NY and Fairfax, VA, Matt Urbanek is an accomplished freelance trumpet player and music educator, with degrees from The Ohio State University and Indiana University as well as extensive experience in the marching arts.
Matt discovered the Alexander Technique was the only thing that helped him relieve the pain he experienced after four years in the Ohio State University marching band. He is now is a certified Alexander Technique instructor.
Specializing in somatic education, he teaches body mapping, coordination, and body awareness to many students across the DFW metroplex, helping performing artists, elderly people and anyone seeking to learn more about their bodies learn how to reduce pain, discomfort, and prevent injuries, improving students’ performance and well-being.
Matt teaches trumpet to middle and high school students in the Wylie and Mesquite school districts and also works as a freelance musician.
