| Amber Frye Manager Customer Care & Scheduling ![]() |
Amber grew up in Lander, Wyoming, as an active participant in soccer and other school sports as well as lots of outdoor activities. She moved to Dallas and began working at MoveStudio during its first year. She quickly learned the business and took over responsibility for client scheduling and customer care. As she began getting involved in all of the various classes she discovered a new comfort level with her body and a passion for yoga, Pilates and Nia. Amber enjoys working in a wellness-oriented environment and helping people discover their own passion for a healthy lifestyle and expressive movement. Amber says of her journey, "I love Nia because it feels so free to move my body in a natural and expressive way, while still getting the physical benefits of a cardio workout. Nia lead me to yoga, where I started opening spaces within my mind and body that I had disconnected from. At this point I knew I needed to find my core, which lead me to Pilates. I instantly started to feel stronger and more supported, supple in my spine and lifted in my core. Because of Pilates I was able to complete a full marathon!" In 2005 Amber became a certified Pilates instructor (see her full bio under Pilates).

| Robin Parker Owner & Director ![]() |
Robin is the creator, owner and director of MoveStudio. Her vision is to provide a peaceful, inspiring space and community for adults to experience the joy of movement as a path to mind-body-soul wellness. She believes strongly in the wisdom of the body and the power of joyful, intentional, communal movement, and she welcomes your feedback and suggestions. Robin has been passionate about dance since about 1980, first in South Florida where she grew up, and later in Dallas, including two years as a dance major at SMU. She initially studied, performed and taught ballet and jazz before discovering modern, Nia and ecstatic dance, using movement as a spiritual and meditative practice. She is deeply inspired by Gabrielle Roth's 5 Rhythms(TM) and TranceDance. (Check out the Dallas Ecstatic Dance meetup site to find out more about our local ecstatic dance tribe.) Around 1995 recurring injuries and chronic pain forced her to explore alternatives to ballet, and she discovered the life-changing practices of Nia, Pilates, yoga and ecstatic dance. Once she took off her shoes and began to move in a more authentic way, her body healed and she found new meaning and joy in movement. MoveStudio is her realized vision of a place where other adults can do the same. She has been greatly influenced by her teachers and friends Lori Darley, Jule Aguirre and Gerry Starnes, as well as all the teachers and students of MoveStudio over the years! Before opening the studio, Robin was a freelance writer/editor and communications consultant. Before that she worked for the American Heart Association National Center for several years. She has a degree in communications/advertising from SMU in Dallas.
