| Robin Parker Owner/Director ![]() |
Robin is the founder, owner and director of MoveStudio. Her vision is to provide a peaceful, inspiring space and community for adults to experience the joy of movement as a path to mind-body-soul wellness. She believes strongly in the wisdom of the body and the power of joyful, intentional, communal movement, and she welcomes your feedback and suggestions. Robin has been passionate about dance since 1980, first in South Florida where she grew up, and later in Dallas, including two years as a dance major at SMU. She initially studied, performed and taught ballet and jazz before discovering modern, Nia and ecstatic dance, using movement as a spiritual and meditative practice. She is especially inspired by Gabrielle Roth's 5 Rhythms(TM) and TranceDance. (Check out the Conscious Dance Dallas facebook page to find out more about our local ecstatic dance tribe.) After recurring injuries and chronic pain forced her to explore alternatives to ballet, Robin discovered the life-changing practices of Nia, Pilates, yoga and ecstatic dance. Once she took off her shoes and began to move in a more authentic way, her body healed and she found new meaning and joy in movement. MoveStudio is her realized vision of a place where other adults can do the same. She has been greatly influenced by all the teachers and students of MoveStudio over the years. Before opening the studio, Robin was a freelance writer/editor and communications consultant, and before that she worked for the American Heart Association for several years. She has a degree in communications from SMU in Dallas. | |

Ana began her path towards understanding movement as a healing tool in her final year in college. While studying Sociology and Anthropology at Sarah Lawrence College she took her first intro course to Dance and learned about Anna Halprin’s Movement Ritual™. From then on she pursued work in intentional communities committed to therapy and relational healing around the globe. She is a certified Halprin Practitioner in Expressive Arts Therapy through the Tamalpa Institute.
