Jule is a certified Nia Black Belt Instructor who has been facilitating movement in the health, fitness and wellness industry since 1985 and teaching at MoveStudio since 2000. She studied with and was certified by Carlos Rosas and Debbie Rosas, cofounders of the NIA Technique, in Portland, Oregon. She received her NIA White Belt in June 1996, her Blue Belt in August 1997, her Brown Belt in October 2001 and her Black Belt in October 2003. Jule embraces the power of Mind+Body+Soul integration and shares NIA with others internationally through her classes, workshops and seminars. Jule has a master's degree in counseling and is also licensed by the State of Texas and certified through the National Board of Certified Counselors as a Professional Counselor. Her vision is to integrate the concepts of NIA with her counseling techniques to form a therapeutic program of healing for participants of her work. She works privately with individuals seeking personal growth and self-actualization, as well as those living with illness, chronic pain, trauma history, and grief issues. Jule served the hospice mission for more than eight years, compassionately working with dying patients and their families. Candace Bordelon, R.Y.T., M.A., has been exploring movement since her first dance class at the age of 4. After a 15-year career in professional dance, she discovered the strong healing power of yoga when she was diagnosed with a herniated disc in her lower back. Now a dedicated practitioner of Iyengar yoga, Candace also has a special interest in Restorative Yoga as it permits the body to release both emotional and physical blocks as the transformational and healing energy of yoga emerges from within the body itself. She has spent many hours of teacher training with Judith Lasater, Peggy Kelley, and Dean Lerner. Her teaching method is rooted in honoring the anatomical integrity of the body. Candace holds a Master of Arts in dance and is an Associate Professor of Dance at Collin College. She is currently a Candidate for the Doctoral degree in dance at Texas Woman’s University. With a background in ballet, modern, Middle Eastern and African dance, yoga, somatics, and bodywork, she brings a well-rounded perspective to her classes. Under the stage name Karina Rasheed, Candace performs Middle Eastern dance professionally as a solo artist. Lori has been training and coaching professionals in a variety of disciplines for the last thirty years. Her passion for dance and self-expression led her to perform as an international solo dance artist early in her career. When she moved to Texas as a young adult, she became an advocate and pioneer for the growing field of modern dance. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, she co-founded and was Artistic Director for Dancers Unlimited, a professional modern dance company, for twenty years. During that time she toured nationally and worked with some of the finest choreographers in the world including Judith Jamison, currently Artistic Director for the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, and Moses Pendleton of Pilobilus and Momix. She has both her BFA and MFA in choreographic theory from Southern Methodist University. In 2000, with a desire to broaden her experience and bring her knowledge culled from years of disciplined practice into the halls of business, she founded her company, The Transitions Coach. She was soon working with Fortune 500 companies like the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and Ferro Chemical, as well as individual clients in legal and financial services, real estate, advertising and technology. A powerful transformative force in the areas of leadership and high performance, Lori is a Certified Somatic Coach through the Strozzi Institute. She uses her deep knowledge and experience of the body's wisdom to help leaders embody their visions and realize their dreams. Lori is on faculty with the Transitions Institute and is an experienced public speaker and group facilitator. Born in the Philipines and raised in Dallas, Jasmine has been active all her life. Enrolled in dance at the age of three, she studied classical ballet at Tuzer Dance Center in Richardson. She continued dancing and cheerleading throughout high school and at Loyola University. A knee injury her sophomore year forced her to the coaching side where she honed her choreography skills and produced many creative, high-energy routines. After graduation in 2001, she moved back to Dallas to open her own photography business. She became a certified fitness instructor through AFAA and began teaching dance and fitness professionally, specializing in hip hop aerobics, kickbox aerobics, Pilates mat, PiYo, strength training and aqua aerobics. Jasmine is certified by AFAA for group fitness instruction and personal training, FitTOUR for Pilates Mat and stability ball, Kaiser for indoor cycling, SCW Fitness for pre- and post-natal personal training, 24 Hour Fitness for PiYo, Reebok Core Board, YogaFIT, Nike Rockstar Instructor 2004-2006 (with Jamie King), and Moms In Motion. Tamra is a professional bellydancer and teacher specializing in Lebanese and Egyptian style bellydance. An accomplished solo dancer, she is also a member of the RAKSZ Middle Eastern Dance Troupe. She is a house dancer at Al-Amir, Dallas' premier Lebanese nightclub, and a featured dancer at Kosta's Greek Cafe in Dallas. She also performs frequently at cultural festivals, corporate and private events, and dance shows across North Texas. Tamra has studied bellydance since 1992 with some of the most respected teachers in the U.S. and international bellydance communities. She regularly attends master-level workshops, both to refine her own technique and to enhance her knowledge of this fascinating and beautiful dance form. Sherri has practiced Nia at MoveStudio since 2001 and completed her White Belt certification with Holly Curtis in 2003. She is a Master's Level Licensed Professional Counselor who offers Bioenergetic Analysis and Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy as well as Cognitive Therapy. In her private practice she treats depression, bipolar, anxiety, and eating disorders. She also specializes in women's issues and chronic pain management. Sherri uses her knowledge of the "second language" of the body to help her clients express themselves and "move" through issues. Through her classes, she hopes to help people experience and feel the organic intelligence of the sensory and intuitive body, the unlimited potential of the mind, the loving and compassionate nature of spirit, and the dynamic expression of the emotional self. Shannon is a certified Nia teacher who completed her White Belt Training with Holly Curtis in February 2004, the Nia FAB Training with Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas in November 2004, her Blue Belt with Debbie and Carlos in June 2005, and her Brown Belt with Debbie and Carlos in July 2006. She experienced her first Nia class at the Red Mountain Spa in November 2003 while participating in the "Shape Your Life" retreat with Shape Magazine. The movement experience set her on a new path in life, which included losing 45 pounds! Recognizing that Nia embodied the components she felt were missing from her hectic life, she sought out a Nia class immediately upon return to Dallas. Shannon began her teaching journey in 2004 at MoveStudio and now teaches throughout the metroplex. Dedicated to developing her Nia practice and sharing the power of movement with others, she continues to attend workshops and teacher trainings. A native of Cameroon, West Africa, Geena began her journey in the arts at the age of 3. For the next 13 years, she immersed herself in drawing, music, theater, and Cameroonian tribal dances. She was part of several performing groups, both dance and music. In 1999 she moved to the US, and her love for performing, choreographing and teaching has led her to more than she could have ever imagined. During her first semester at Brookhaven College she created and captained the Brookhaven Bears Cheer Squad. She moved on to the University of North Texas to pursue a degree in Interdisciplinary studies from the College of Education. In 2004 Geena created Total Dance Explosion, a hip hop Dance Company in the DFW area. Geena is also the Artistic Director of HYPE-The Choreographer’s Showcase and Collin County Cowgirls. She directed and produced Center Stage: Dancers United 4 A Cause in 2005, a benefit concert for a family affected by Hurricane Katrina. She has taught and choreographed for various groups, artists, recreation centers, studios and schools in the DFW area. | |

Sheriff is a certified professional dance instructor and competitor who has been dancing since the age of seven. He has a bachelor’s degree in dance and kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University and an associate degree in American Ballroom Dancing. He owned his own dance studio in Nacogdoches, Texas before being recruited to Dallas by Fred Astaire Franchised Studios. He is also a certified aerobics instructor. Sheriff has been teaching at MoveStudio since 2003. Sheriff is originally from France and speaks six languages. He has lived and worked in France, Italy, Egypt and throughout the Middle East. He teaches with a passion for dance, a belief that exercise can be fun, and an understanding of the sense of freedom and expression one can generate with simple movements. His philosophy is to be in harmony with everyone and everything, beginning with himself. Reanee has been dancing since she was three years old (thanks, Mom!) and teaching dance, gymnastics and fitness since the late 1970s. She was even named Miss Dance USA in 1977. Her diverse background includes cheerleading and drill team at Denton High School; dance and journalism studies in college; managing group exercise programs for a fitness club; teaching in universities, corporations, fitness clubs, studios, dance camps, etc.; teaching hip hop and yoga in Vicenza, Italy for nine months in 1999; Pilates Mat certification and much more. Reanee started practicing yoga in college and it became a life-long passion and fascination. She has studied many styles of yoga -- Hatha, Kundalini, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Bikram, Thai Yoga Massage, etc. -- always seeking out new information and trying to grow. She has been teaching yoga since 1997. Reanee practices yoga for pleasure and believes it allows her to continue to do all the other things in life she loves, such as snow-skiing and Hip Hop, without injury. It also helps her relieve the stress of balancing a career and raising two teenagers. Reanee has a Graduate Gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America and has been an independent legal appraiser and wholesaler of fine jewelry for 25 years. Mati has always been fascinated by mind-body practices and techniques. As a visual artist, her work also explores the relationship between the body and creative expression using movement, meditation, and the language of intuition, archetype, and symbol. In 1998, she found Gabrielle Roth's 5Rhythms® and her life has been completely transformed by the maps of this practice. She has been an avid 5Rhythms student ever since, and is currently a Teacher in Training with Gabrielle Roth and the Moving Center Faculty. Mati is also a freelance Spanish/English translator. | |
