Theresa Quintans
Nia

theresa

Growing up in Dallas, Theresa’s outlets of creative expression were through piano and harp, her first instruments. Her love of music sparked a fire within her, and unleashed a desire to seek additional ways to express her creativity.

Theresa joyfully danced out of her first Nia class in 2000. Soon after, it was Jule’s Moulin Rouge Nia class that dreAw her to MoveStudio…and Theresa hasn’t left since. The Move Studio community was home.

In 2002, she received her white belt certification in Portland, Oregon from Nia co-founders Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas. Since then, she has been dancing through life; her body an instrument of health and expression found through movement and stillness. Over the years, Theresa has been (affectionately) called a Nia “Pixie” and a Nia “Ninja”. In her classes, her wish is to inspire you.

An elementary school art educator, Theresa spends most of her days nurturing and growing the innate creativity found in all children. She also practices Vipassana meditation, Ecstatic dance, enjoys Hoop dance, knitting, cooking, painting, sewing, and whatever else she can dip her toes into…before she dives in.

Kris Walters
Raise the Barre! Ballet Workout, Burlesque

krisw

When Kris met instructor Tatiana Bailar during her first Barre class, she knew she had found a discipline that translated beautifully to her body and soul's needs. The emphasis placed on strengthening and toning, combined with strong graceful body movements appealed to Kris with her background in dance and performance.  She knew this program would challenge her body in a new way and push herself out of her comfort zone.  She was inspired by a quote, "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." Barre represents that statement perfectly for her: to push herself, test her limits, and right when she thinks she can't possibly do another rep, do ten more!  Kris believes our bodies are as strong as our hearts and our minds and with the right encouragement, we can do anything.

She teaches Barre classes for all levels, all-body types, all ages, shapes, sexes and sizes.  The small repetitive movements will tighten, tone, and lengthen your body while building a strong core foundation to build upon. Kris hopes to inspire grace and strength, inside and out.
