The Art of Living Foundation, founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is a global community of people practicing Sudarshan Kriya, an innovative breathing and meditation technique which independent research has shown to improve physical, mental and emotional health. Training Mindfully with Qigong Principles™ - Qigong (pronounced Chee Gung) is sometimes described as being “The Soul of Tai Chi.” Its origins dating back over 4500 years, Qigong is considered one of the deepest roots of traditional Chinese Medicine and Martial Arts, offering a wealth of postural and core strength and conditioning opportunities.

Students of Qigong begin by training an easy to learn collection of movements (forms) which can be performed seated or standing. Each form is repeated slowly, with a natural breathing cycle, allowing time to create meaningful internal connections before moving on to the next form. The mind becomes quite, allowing the body to share what it needs from you, giving you the opportunity to listen and respond. Stress and pain melt away, emotions settle and your heart will open in unimaginable ways.

We work on one Qigong Principle per month, physically, mentally and emotionally. As the 8 Qigong Principles become more integrated into the movements, students begin to achieve higher levels of physical, mental and emotional awareness and wellbeing. They become...SimplyAware.
